First Time User Registration for Interlibrary Loan
To request an item through Interlibrary Loan, you must first identify yourself to the library's ILLiad system.
Entering your personal information into the ILLiad system means you will not have to supply the information again when making future requests.
Having your e-mail and regular mail addresses on file with Interlibrary Loan enables us to notify you promptly and deliver materials accurately when
your request arrives in the library.
By specifying your EKU Email Address and ILLiad Password, you will have secure access to information about your requests. You will also be able to review
the list of items you have requested in the past.
Policies & Procedures
Interlibrary Loan service is only available for EKU faculty, staff, and students.
All ILL requests must be submitted on the appropriate request forms. A separate form must be filled out for each item requested.
A maximum of five (5) photocopy requests and five (5) book requests (total of 10) will be accepted at one time. When 5 of either kind are completed, 5 more of the same kind may be submitted.
Allow a minimum of two weeks per request, although we will make every effort to obtain the materials as quickly as possible. Please remember that we are at the mercy of other libraries and the postal services.
It is the requestor's responsibility to determine that the items being requested are not held in any of the EKU Libraries. Any requests for items owned by the Libraries will be returned.
ILL service is governed by the National Interlibrary Loan Code (ALA 2001). Using these guidelines the following will not be requested:

WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted materials.
Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the
photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research". If a user makes a request for, or later uses,
a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
